PARK FEST-September 18th

This is one event that you and your family do not want to miss.  This will be our 12th annual Park Fest.  This festival is a day of fun for the entire family.  We'll have many attractions including rides for the kids, demonstrations, bands for your listening enjoyment, hay rides, food booths, contests, door prizes, raffles, and a spectacular fireworks display to end the day of fun.  Park Fest will be held on Saturday, September 18th from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  Free shuttle bus service will be provided from the parking lots of Scott High School.  Wrist Bands are needed to ride or play on all rides and inflatables.  Wrist bands are sold for $5 per person.

SCOTT HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING PARADE-October 1st

Friday, October 1, 2010 After the 6:10 p.m. T.A.N.K. bus rolls through.  The parade begins at Mill Valley Drive and heads south on Taylor Mill Road to north bound Old Taylor Mill Road, and ends at Scott High School's football field.  Come out to support our Scott Eagles, and get some parade candy

CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING PARTY-December 5h

Join us for an afternoon of free entertainment which will include horse drawn carriage and hay wagon rides, a petting zoo, carolers, making a craft, Santa Claus, and refreshments.  At the conclusion of the festivities we will light the Christmas Tree to kick off the holiday season.  Bring you family and enjoy the afternoon at the park, Sunday, December 5th  from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

SANTA'S STREET VISIT- December 11th

Listen for the sirens!  Watch for the flashing lights!  Then be on the lookout for Santa Claus.  The jolly old elf, Santa Claus himself, will be making his way around the streets of Taylor Mill on Saturday, December 11th.  Santa starts his day at 9:00 a.m. and usually is finished by 3:00 p.m.  Escorted by a police cruiser, he rides in the back of a pick-up truck so that he can see boys and girls (of ALL ages), and give them each a candy cane.  Not only is Santa Claus coming to town, but he is also coming to your street. So… you better watch out!

LIGHT UP TAYLOR MILL- December 19th

This is an evening to gather your family and/or friends, pile into the car and ride through the streets of Taylor Mill to view the holiday decorations and light displays of your neighbors.  So help us light up Taylor Mill for the evening; turn on your holiday displays, set out & light luminaries, or simply turn on your porch light, then spend a little time enjoying the sights of the season.

Our Recreation Committee is made up of a dedicated group of residents that volunteer their time to work and provide our community with wonderful activities. We are always looking to expand our group with new people and fresh ideas.  If you would like to get involved and become a member of the Recreation Committee, we meet on the 4th Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the City Building.  If you feel that you wouldn't have the time to become a committee member but would like to participate in some way, you could become a Recreation Volunteer.  Our volunteers work with us on specific events or on an as needed basis.  Anyone interested in becoming a Recreation Member or a Volunteer should come to one of our meetings and/or call Karen at the City Building at 859-581-3234.

Milling Around the Kitchen is a cookbook that is a compilation of recipes submitted by the residents, neighbors, friends, and employees of Taylor Mill.  This keepsake collection contains 463 recipes in a hard-bound book.  You can obtain a copy of this wonderful set of recipes by coming to the City Office or by completing a Cookbook Order Form (found on our "Forms & Ordinances" page). Each cookbook costs $5.00 (plus $5.00 if we mail it to you).
